I am not a fitness elite. I am not a incredible professional athlete. I am a woman who has found fitness late in life. This article is about fat loss. And that is something I can speak about with authority. You see, when I was 43 I used to weight upwards of 265 lbs. Eating disorders in men on the rise

Clean your plate…should you?

Going into the New Year, many people have resolutions related to healthy eating.  Something to keep in mind, especially if you have little ones, is that your kids look up to you and you set an example for them in all aspects of life.  Yes, this means that the way you eat, the way you talk about your body, your dieting habits, and exercise habits all have a huge impact on shaping your kids. Does your family have a healthful diet?

According to a survey published in USA Today Health, only 1 in 3 parents think their family has a healthful diet.  This is not very surprising considering the state of health in our nation.  Most surveyed do not know caloric count in many of the products they eat on a daily basis.  Additionally, more than half of the parents surveyed felt that their activity level was fair or poor.  The majority (74%) did however feel that their kids activity level was good or very good.  Although many kids get plenty of activity,  this number seems high.  Kids are not nearly as active as they used to be and … [Read more...]
